Do you understand what services your child may be entitled to receive from their public or private school?
Understanding what your child needs from his or her school is an important first step in improving their academic performance. All too often, parents may not fully understand what services their child may be entitled to receive from their public or private school, or how to ensure that those services are made available to their child.
Amy will work with the families of students she assesses, providing information and guidance about rights and procedures under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 (of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973). Many families find that understanding their child’s rights and learning the terminology and procedures used by their school can make an enormous difference in their effectiveness as their child’s advocate.
